All your summer fun is just around the corner...and we can barely wait!
The Junior Department at Tiffin-Seneca Public Library has been planning since winter and now it is finally time! The Junior Library is kicking off its summer reading program, “Dream Big - Read” on Friday, June 1, 2012.
The summer reading program includes eight weeks of reading (with no book reports!), prizes, and special programs. Students entering sixth grade through grade twelve are welcome to join in the fun.
Just keep track of the amount of time read during the summer and stop in to the Junior Library to report results and win prizes. Participants can pick up their reading record anytime after June 1, when registration begins. The program will last all summer, until July 31.
The “Dream Big Magic Show” will kick off the summer of special programs on Thursday, June 14 at 4:00 pm in the Adult Reading Room. Jim Kleefeld, Magical Entertainer, will dazzle the audience with a magical celebration of the joy of reading. There will be lots of audience participation, comedy and magic geared for children of all ages.
Other programs include “Craft Tuesdays,” “The Wonderful World of Bats,” “Campfire at the Library,” “Off to the Moon” and more

Just for Kids...
This week's Advertiser-Tribune letter from the Junior Library
Dear Readers,
“The Bridge to Never Land” by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson is available to read at Tiffin-Seneca Public Library. Aidan and Sarah Cooper discover a mysterious coded document in an antique English desk. Something about the document reminds Sarah about a series of books she has read-the Starcatcher series about the origin of Peter Pan.
Sarah and her brother follow clues that leas them to leave home and find a college professor in the physics department named J. D. Aster. Aidan notices the professor’s last name is the same as the Starcatchers in “Peter and the Starcatchers.”
Have you visited Disneyland? Do you remember a Peter Pan ride? The ride is a key part of the story for Sarah, Aidan, the professor and Peter. The last chapter seems to be a promise of more adventures in a series connecting modern day story characters with Peter Pan.
The Starcatcher series by Dave Barry is shelved in the Junior Fiction area. The series make a great family read.
